I am an interdisciplinary artist working in filmmaking, collage, design, and sculpture. My work uses DIY styles to create and speak to my identity as a "displaced" artist. I explores object displacement and space as well as the repurposing of "discarded" materials, objects, ideas, approaches and methods that uphold both the intricate aesthetic histories of Sub-Saharan African art practices while exploring and uncovering the functional capabilities of these objects in design, science and technology within our local socio-political contexts.

Philippe Deschamps is a French film composer and ambient artist. Trained in

classical piano from childhood, he first played bass and guitar in several rock

bands before studying sound at a film school in Paris. For him, ambient music is a

genre that engages the listener by inventing new sounds and creating unreal

spaces and temporalities. Inspired by William Basinski and Chihei Hatakeyama, he

seeks to create moments conducive to deep listening.

Philip Gibbs is a prolific improviser whose work quite often flies under the radar. He self-taught himself how to play the guitar at the age of 13 and has been developing his style, technique and vocabulary ever since. One of the key developments in his playing being a two handed tapping technique that he developed in the ‘80’s and has been refining in different contexts through to the present day. Gibbs takes the guitar to places it has never been and through his experience and virtuosity he enables us, the enquiring listener to be transported to his world of bites, snips, scribbles and contorted delights. Sometimes light and sketchy, occasionally heavy and guttural.
